Acquired Factor XIII Deficiency in a Patient with Metastatic Lung Cancer

نویسندگان

چکیده

Acquired factor XIII (FXIII) deficiency can result in life-long bleeding tendency and be caused by enhanced consumption, impaired synthesis, or as an immune-mediated process. The latter related with solid neoplasms, through neutralizing non-neutralizing antibodies. relationship between FXIII activity non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is not well established. This case report about a patient NSCLC acquired deficiency. Materials Methods: Clinical records were obtained the electronic process analysis, confidentiality of was always assured. Results Discussion: A 70-year-old male no relevant past medical history recently diagnosed metastatic admitted for priapism. Five days later, he developed disorder, slightly elevated coagulation times normal fibrinogen levels platelets count. level found to decreased (0.24 IU/mL) plasma mixing studies did confirm presence inhibitor. correction standard favour antibody. Despite treatment, haemorrhage control achieved died. Conclusion: clinical describes rare presenting severe haemorrhagic event antibodies subsequent increased clearance.

Factor XIII deficiency: a review of literature

Coagulaon factor XIII gene, protein structure and funcon Coagulaon factor XIII (FXIII) is a tetrameric (FXIII- A2B2) pro-transglutaminase enzyme with an essenal role in the final stage of coagulaon cascade by cross linking the fibrin monomers and stabilizing the fibrin clot. Congenital FXIII deficiency is a rare bleeding disorder, with an autosomal recessive trait inheritance, and a fre...

Relevant bleeding diathesis due to acquired factor XIII deficiency.

BACKGROUND Acquired factor XIII (FXIII) deficiency is associated with reduced clot firmness and increased bleeding in patients undergoing major surgery. In contrast, only limited information is available on the haemostatic relevance of acquired FXIII deficiency in non-surgical patients. CASE REPORT An 81-year-old patient, who had experienced acute type-A dissection of the aorta eight years ea...

Current understanding in diagnosis and management of factor XIII deficiency

Factor XIII or "fibrin-stabilizing factor," is a transglutaminase circulates in the blood circulation as a hetero tetramer with two catalytic A subunits and two carrier B subunits. This important coagulation factor has a crucial role in clotting cascade and produces strong covalent bonds between soluble formed fibrin monomers during coagulation. This stable cross linked fibrin strands are resis...
